Rest day

As the sun starts to break over the Hardangervida above the valley, it's clear we ain't goin nowhere in a hurry.

Basically it's gonna be a rest day, were both pretty tired today and bed seems to be a better option.

Not to waste the day we decide to have an active rest day. Bølgen was always going to be on the cards, but after looking at the route yesterday it looked like another type of Mael day but not quite as harsh.

So, this morning we headed back to the Bølgen area with the intention of finding an easy route from the valley floor to the base of the ice fall. It was always going to be a hard slog up hill, but better to be prepared. We parked up and found a dried up frozen river bed which lead straight up to the base of the climb, so it doesn't look as hard as we first thought.

At the parking spot we saw some great abandoned old vehicles.

These old vehicles would look amazing re furbished.

After looking at the vehicles we got a great view of Gaustatoppen.

The route we are looking at is Bølgen which is in the centre of the photo.

So, tommorow should provide a great day on the ice and some super pictures.

After our recky we headed off up the valley above Rjukan to catch some sun.

Looks like these people were a bit late back.

So, it's time again to go and get some coffee and cake, or open sandwich in this case.
