Focusing on the important things ahead

BIG title

However, true to the last. Dean and myself set off to Whitegoods just outside of Ruthin North Wales this morning. http://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/crag.php?id=3826 not before pre climb prep work on the scarpa DT boots.

So boots in order, kit in the car and it's off. Well off ish, no good climb session starts without a coffee and cake, or not any climb I've been on. So Booths here we come, booths @knutsford.

Let me tell you, booths at knutsford, wow, what a super setup. I was impressed, normally go to booths at Milnthorpe, but as most good climbers, must travel. So, coffee full, cake filled and we are off to do business with the rock.

Oh, sorry forgot. Before we rock so to speak little top up at Weatherspoons in Ruthin.

Weatherspoons Ruthin, eggs benedict.

So fully refreshed, toilet break complete, for some and we are off.

Ruthin town is superb, need to spend more time looking round. The whole town is a gem, a national treasure and a complement to Welsh history.

Right, down to business.

Today's attack point, kitchen garden. We deliberately stayed away from the main face as we want to push hard by doing rep sessions. Rep sessions are three on three off ect ect. So first ups me for a lead on Adam to set the top rope in. Dean decides to pull the rope and runs Adam clean for the second lead route. Top rope in and it's me for the first three reps, dean follows with an impressive run, three sets on the trot with no issues. Top rope moved over towards Apple and its a second set of reps. The star attraction on this slab is without doubt (And Pears) excellent overhanging start with torque moves all the way up. So at what point did cranberry and blueberry fusion play a part in all this (http://www.battleoats.com/) I would love to tell you but don't have a clue. I know that sounds odd but really, does anyone if your really truefull. So, time line story. Arrive at climb, eat part of the bar, eat more of the bar, get pumped feel hungry finish bar off, nuth said wrapper in the bag,bin pocket were ever. (Not on the floor). So does it work, well the bar tastes ace I feel great after a pretty hard session and I am sitting here babbling away on my BLOG  without any of the usual aches and pains or slow deteriation of mind and body which usually accompanies physical exercise. Oh, forgot to say, the best part of the bar http://www.battleoats.com/ was a super surprise, a whole cranberry, whoop whoop. I can tell you it tasted ace and if you really think about it, it shows that these guys are really using fresh wholesum ingredients, well chuffed.

Psyched  ready for pain, pain is short lived, but Lipton is forever. Pun, Lipton is the target. Lipton is a Norsk ice climb, next year (Feb) Dean and I will be heading out to Norway to climb Lipton, long awaited. See Rjukan Ice Climbing guide for further details.

Ok, a bit of a showy shot. Must admit I love the new pants, goes well with the old Hagloff top.

Dean just starting up (And Pears) remember, repetition makes you strong for the trails ahead. It's difficult to resist the routes all around but focus is key. Feb 2015 will see some amazing routes being climbed in Norway, with Lipton firmly in our sights.

The tree of souls.
