Here's a short BLOG from today's little outing to the wall, bit rainy out there today so best make good use of a nice cosy climbing centre.
Started with a steady warm up on the side wall with nice big easy holds and great stretches to get those muscles nice and loose. Then a few push ups on the push up bars, leg stretches and a few hay makers or windmill arms to really get loose.
Warmed up and it's onto the low grade routes to just get the movement and sequences right. No point in getting an injury due to in correct warm up or movement techniques. It's also to easy to burn out quick by jumping onto routes you want to complete to soon, let your body get up to speed with what you asking of it. You must remember you've just jumped out of a car from a possible 30-40 journey sat in all the wrong positions for climbing, you need to adjust slowly.
So, we bouldered for about 2hrs then ran some great routes from 5a to 6b on the main wall. The higher the grade the better the routes felt. The sequences on the 6a routes plus were super, lovely flowing moves.
This pictures an interesting one, shows a father and daughter leaving the wall. They look as thou they have had a great time, and the little girl gives the impression she's pleased with herself.
In the background a couple of friends are meeting and greeting, maybe just going or maybe just arriving. The wall is a great place to be with a lively atmosphere. So join in, call us on the number above or just tweet me on @peak_climb for more details.
