Sequel to Rivers on rock.

Second time round for a soaking. Weathers not been kind of late, put Corvus off late last night due to the weather being so atrocious in the lakes. Corvus is a multi pitch climb at the top end of the Borrowdale valley Keswick Lake District. We were given rain and driving gales to contend with so as it was Johns first multi pitch route was best to a least make it enjoyable, so it's off.

Corvus sits in the centre of the crag at a diff rating, five or six pitches. This route is a real classic and a must to do, but on a dry day to get the best from it.

FROGGATT IT IS

So it's off into the Peak to recky some routes on Froggatt. This is something you don't always get chance to do, so on a rainy day it doesn't feel as if you are wasting climbing time.

Brookside Buttress

Cracking route for John here at a nice grade of Severe 4a (Tinsels Tangle) on Brookside Buttress. Page 269 Easter Grit. Loads of gear placements, nice steady route. This route is on the buttress at the nearest end to the roadside parking.

Further down the crag at the far end were it starts to merge in with Curbar Edge are more less used areas of the crag.

Recently been climbed by Ty Landman. This route looks and must be nails. Watch the above video for confirmation.

Anyway, moving on. We head down to Browns Eliminate E2 5b (top 50) Joe Brown 1948. What a superb achievement. The route has plenty of holds in the right places, just a ballsy route. Deans up for running this route as soon as it drys out, I'll be spotter.

Browns Eliminate Top 50 E2 5b

We popped along to down hill racer to have a drule, climbed, or had a go at this route last year. This route is desperate, hats off to anyone who can lead it, dean climbed this on top rope last year without much issue. Next up was Great Slab E3 5b (Top 50) climbed this route on top rope, again last year. Had no issues and no slips, the route went clean. However don't think I would be up for a lead as there is no gear, long way down onto a very rocky landing, wouldn't want to make a mistake.

Great but of early graffiti at the base of the climb. I wonder if this guy had a go at the route.

Here's another super route (Green Gut) for John at a very comfortable grade of Hs 4a. This route can be loaded with gear all the way up.

Strapiombante E1 5b

What an amazing route, climbed this about 2 years ago on top rope, wasn't ready to lead it, I am now. So just got to get the right day and it's on the cards, can't wait for this as it's an absolute classic.

Just a bit wet today for a lead, ie vid above.

Lots of routes to go at here, Froggatt, curbar it's an absolute Mecca. Even today in the rain and wind, there's no better place. So if your visiting the area and need accomodation get onto,
